Remington model 1917 Maybe not your most classic hunting rifle, but killed both my fathers and mine first deer.

Savage M 12 204

Rem 700 ADL 30-06 with synthetic and original furniture.

I had posted this picture on another thread and was asked to put it on here. I hope no one gets tired of looking at it. This is one I put together for my oldest Son. It also shoots pretty good and seems like it likes 140gr Bergers

'I don't think I could ever get tired of looking at that!!!Just beautiful.

I might get flamed for this one. It doesn't shoot quite like a Savage but it sure is pretty. It wont shoot quarters every time at 100 but it will put Venison in the freezer.

Remington 700CDL 30-06 Centenial Edition It really doesnt show but it has a sporter profile fluted barrel and engraved floorplate to celebrate the centenial of the 30-06 cartridge. (1906-2006) It's topped with a VX3 3-9x40 with a set of the Alumina intensifierrs and sports a brown leather sling. Yes It has been hunted a good bit.
Lighting wasn't real good sorry.

What are the 2 small circles on the side of a lot of the Savage rifles? Mine doesn't have these is why I'm asking

They are reinforcement screws.

How come not all of the wood stocks have them?

How come not all of the wood stocks have them?

I noticed that the Remington and Savage above have them but don't know why all don't. Different woods? Different design? Required due to inletting relief? Different manufacturers?

Pretty sure it's due to inletting weakening the stock.

I believe that to be the case. I have never seen a 700 ADL, BDL or CDL with a wood stock that didn't have a bar in that spot. The difference with the ADL is it isn't dressed up as much as the BDL.
