I installed the sav-2 trigger in my Stevens 200 last week but for the life of me I can't get it above 1.2 lbs. I'm using the yellow spring as stated in the DVD to use for a heavier pull. Any suggestions. I would like to get it around 2-2.5lbs for hunting.

Which of the three holes do you have the pin in?

I had it in the center hole. I moved it it the back one and got it to just under 2 lbs which I can live with, but I have side slop and forward slack. Is there anything I can do about it with bushings.

Have you tightened the "weight of pull adjustment screw"? That should give you a heavier trigger.
As far as side to side "slop", I believe that is normnal.
Not sure what you mean by forward slack. Perhaps tightening the preload screw.

Got it, just had to do a little tinkering to get it where I wanted it. Don't care for the side to side slop I thought I read that someone fixed this with some shims.

What did you do? What did you tinker with?
I would love to increase my knowledge base.

You can get rid of the slop using drill rod of the appropriate size to take up some, and nylon shims between the frame and trigger. Experiment a little to see what works best for you to make it "acceptable"

I had same issue , called up rifle basix and they talked me through the process.

I replaced the over travel set screw with the longer one and just tightened the weight pull screw down some more. Apparently it had loctite in the threads and felt like it was bottoming out, but once I cleaned the threads it tightened down fine.
