Magazine for 7mm Mag and .300 Win Mag

I noticed that Savage lists a different magazine for the 7 mag and the 300 WM. Will the same magazine not work for both since they have the same parent case?

The 7 mag has a shorter OAL than the 300 mag so I would guess that's why they're different. If the magazine lengths are the same length then there shouldn't be a problem interchanging them but since they're listed separately I would suspect they may be different lengths.

The "bump" in the magazine for the shoulder is in a different spot, the shoulder is farther forward on the 300. They'll both work, with possibly a little adjustment depending which cartridge/magazine you are using. RUM cases fit in either with a little work so what you're talking should be no problem.

I have a center feed stock with a .300 WM magazine in it and was thinking of using it for a 7 Rem Mag build.
