I really want to order one of these: http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-652/Varmint-Thumbhole-Savage-10/Detail
They describe the stock as "Savage 10/12 (4.40") Short Action Blind Mag, Brown Laminate -In Stock "

I have a Savage model 10, short action, top side bolt release, with accutrigger, and it has a hinged floorplate. It is current manufacture, center feed. The magazine stays with the stock when you take it apart. It is a 4.40" bolt hole center stock/action.

They say they aren't sure I can use that particular stock. I don't really care at all about having a magazine period. Perfectly happy to have this be a single shot rifle.

So will it work? They suggest I call Savage, but I have never found them to be particularly helpful with these kind of questions.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I can see, you will be good to go.

Definately work. You'll be converting your BDM into a blind mag. The mag will sit in the stock and may need to be shimmed to fit tight but other than that your good to go.
