I got this off GunBroker and it finally arrived at my dealer this morning. I managed to get some range time with it and ran a box of Federal 165gr through it. Boy am I rusty, but the groups got tighter as I relaxed and settled in! I'll post better pics later, this was a quickie after getting home from the range.

Savage 110FP 30-06 with Laminated heavy stock, Leupold MK4 LM/T 4.5-14x50 glass, ER Shaw barrel.

Getting the barrel threaded and trying to decide which of these brakes I'm going to use.
JP compensator or Smith Enterprise SEI brake... both should do a good job.

Took it down to my local dealer to get the barrel threaded. I got lucky and got it back in 2 days. Came out pretty good.

I like the choice of break on that. Not a fan of the more square one with the huge openings.

So how does it shoot?

AHHhhhhhhh yes. The venerable 30.06.
The second love of my life. Although, I prefer a muzzle brake that aims the blast back so nobody wants to shoot next to me.

Nice looking rig. Good luck with it.

All these years and I finally found another guy on the internet who has a 110FP in 30-06. My long lost brother!!

I ordered mine back in '07 and it arrived in '08. Since then I've got about 2,500 rounds through it and it's still a tack driver to this day. I use mine as a long range precision rifle out to 1,000 yards. My go to load is a 200gr Matchking over IMR 4350 with Lapua brass and Federal match primers. I've got some other good loads if you're interested in them as well. After all these years with my rifle I'm considering getting my barrel cut down from 24" to 20" and threaded for a can.

You've bought an outstanding rifle and you're going to love it more with every day.

Thanks for all the compliments gang. Well I just got her out today finally after getting the brake installed. Short session, 3 rds to re-zero her at 200 yards, then another 3 rds for grouping. Shooting off the bi-pod I did a 2 inch group at 200 yds with Federal Premium 168 gr ammo. I know she'll do much better than that and next session I'll bring out my cradle and do it right. I also worked on the trigger and with the factory springs the best it would do was 2.5 lbs. I found a thread about swapping the springs and after some adjusting got it down to 2 lbs which is perfect for me.

Yeah teddy12b, I'm your long lost brother! .308 is nice but I'm old school and love the .06! With my brake installed my barrel length is now 24.5 inches, it was 22 before the install.

Edit: What a difference with the brake! She shot soft as she was but the muzzle would jump off target. Now it's rock solid and the felt recoil is ridiculously nil!

That stock looks great. Is that the factory stock or an aftermarket stock? If the latter, who made it?

Factory stock. One of the reasons I fell in love with it, I got a thing for Laminated stocks!

Man that long action varmint channeled laminate stock is super slick.
Wouldn't that make it a 110 BP with the laminate? F code is for synthetic right?

What the guy I bought if from said was he replaced the original stock with this factory stock. It was also originally barreled in .270 Win. When he was finished the only original part of the rifle was the receiver. So yes I guess you are right those codes would be different if it came assembled from the factory that way. I have the original box, serial number and model number are for an FP.

Kinda figured it was a project rifle, stock looks like it's from an older 112BVSS.
I didn't know (or forgot) if they ever made a P series in .270 but cant be sure from memory. I know most of the LE series were short actions.I would think a heavy .270 takeoff barrel would probably be sorta a rare bird. I seem to remember most of the older long action LE rifles were Win mag with a few 30-06
I have an early accutriggered 110 FP in .25-06 and I don't think they made a whole bunch of them in that chambering either. I don't get around to shooting it much.
The synthetics sure aren't anywhere near as pretty as that laminate. It's a really nice stick

Correction, I said .270 but it was actually chambered in .25-06 Sorry for the confusion. :)

It's a G series by the way.

That laminated stock came on the older model 12/112 palma rifles. I bought a LH SA stock from Numrich a couple years ago. They were just NOS Savage stocks made by Boyd's.

Oops,I just noticed that the OP's stock is different than mine, but I have seen that particular stock on older model 12's from the factory.

That's a beautiful looking rifle Tex.
Edit: just noticed your edit on the taper. LOL Yeah the forearm on mine is very wide and then tapers down at the action.

I looked for months for one! I even posted a thread on here for one. A year ago I saw them on Gunbroker NIB for $650.
I finally called Savage and asked them to make one for me.

Looks like Triplets Teddy12B! ;) Rattfink did you order it with the synthetic stock or did you get a laminated one?

I used the 12 FCV as my base model essentially so...
Accustock, accustrigger, DBM, etc.
Oddly enough though the FCV has the shiny jeweled bolt body and shinier bluing while mine came with the very dull bluing and blued bolt body which was nice. I didn't even ask for it that way.
