Question for those that have pillar bedded a Boyds stock

I went with the 7/16 or 29/64, one of the two. I wanted to make sure I had some wiggle room for the lamp rod when I expoxied it in. figure it would adhere better than being tight fit with little expoxy. I didn't hit any cross supports either.

I actually pillar bedded 2 stocks. The first I did I used the 3/8 drill bit but found it to be kinda tight for my taste, the second I did the 1/2 and did not touch the pillar either. So 1/2" seems to be fine if the drill is lined up properly.
