Hey Guys, so I am a new owner to a Stevens 200 chambered in .300 win mag. I still don't have it in my hands yet since I live in CA but I'll be picking it up next week.
I have been scouring the interwebs and gathering thoughts and ideas on how I eventually want this rifle to end up. Initially I thought I wanted the CDI Precision DBM and a tactical stock inlet to fit. After surfing some more I came across the MDT TAC21 Chassis but only saw they make it in short action for the savage... I decided to write them just to see if they had plans on making a long action version. MDT was super fast with their response and let me know that they are actually in the works and a long action version should become available in a few months! Definitely an awesome system. And I figure would probably end up about the same cost as a stock plus DBM.
They also have their LSS chassis that is lighter and more minimal for much cheaper and they said if they get enough inquiry they might do a Savage long action of that too, so write them if you're interested! http://mdttac.com/
In the meantime I might try my hand at making something like this to hold me over:

Have you considered an XLR Chassis? I built my 7MM Rem mag. using a 200 action in an XLR chassis...sweet.

I have seen the XLR Chassis, not sure I love the design... If MDT makes the LSS chassis for the long action it will be pretty similar but much cheaper than the XLR. Fingers crossed!
