Putting peep sights on a model 4M

I have inherited a savage model 4m rifle. It has a tube based reciever with a diameter slightly smaller than an inch. Does anyone else here have one of these rifles, and how would one put a set of Lyman's on it?

I think a Lyman 55S will fit that gun but the holes for the peep sight will have to be D&T'd.

Are there any existing holes on the side of the receiver that look like they may be for a peep sight? Savage 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7's were modified about a dozen times, some sub models had the holes, others didn't.
