Hi,just found this site and wanted to ask a question.I'm thinking about buying a model 12 in .223 cal.with a 20 inch heavy barrel. What do you think about barrel break in?Shoot 2 or 3 shots and clean or just shoot it?I had a model 12 20 in.heavy barrel, single shot I bought used, and it shot great. It would shoot 53 gr. up to 77 gr. bullet great.Still kicking myself for selling it.
THANKS JEFF ;D
Also I've found a used model 12 .223 like I want online about $100 cheaper than a new one, would you buy it or the new one.I guess I know the answer.

Welcome to the site.
Just take it out and shoot it.
I don't know that I would buy the used one and it is for this reason, once you add in shipping cost, (Around $25 bucks) and most FFL add on a transfer fee of somewhere from $20 to $40 bucks you are hardly saving anything. Also what is the round count of the used gun? If you was saving more money, I would not hesitate to buy a used gun.

That's about what I was thinking on the used rifle, because I don't know how many rounds have been through it.I just needed to hear someone's opinion on it.
THANKS JEFF ;D

Most people just kill themselves and the barrels from cleaning. Just shoot it!!
