I have a older model 110 chambered in 270 win. I would like to rebarrel it to a 223 rem. I have take the bolt apart and put it back together for experience. My question is what all do I need to change the bolt for a 223rem. Do I need the bolt head only? if so does anyone recommend a place or have a link were to purchase the parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon

Email Sharp Shooter Supply and tell them you want a long action 223 conversion kit. It'll be a trued short action bolt head and another part that makes it work safely in a long action that I can't recall its name.

I also think you can order a dedicated long action 378 bolt head from PTG.

Barring that, you might find a old factory LA/378 bolt head...but they go fast in the classifieds due to being kinda rare.

Does that kit have the magazine in it as well?

Nope.

Its pretty much a single-feed proposition, unless you somehow rig something up or run CDI LA/308 DBM and use AICS 223 magazines (that's what I do).

I bet the savage mags are made from unobtanium.
