Warne Tactical Base

I bought a Warne Tactical Base for my pre-accu-trigger 110 30-06 to give me additional eye relief adjustment. When I put the two front screws in the base finger tight, there was about .025 gap at the rear. I made a shim and finished the scope installation. it bore-sights OK but I have not been to the range.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or did I just get a defective product?

Very common. The receiver is warped. The shim is fine.
