I'm looking at getting a nikon monarch 2.5-10x50 bdc scope.
Scope is going on hunting rig for Browm bear , moose and caribou 338-06
Will this be enough scope?

How long of shots are you planning on taking? I have a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 on a 338 win mag and absolutely love it

1 foot to hopefully not more than 600 yards
Also are there any quality problems?

I see an awful lot of "refurbished" Nikons for sale, they have to come from somewhere. With brownies in the mix I would stick to the upper tier optics, you don't want a scope failure at the worst possible time. Just my opinion :)

I have a Nikon Monarch 6-24x50 on my target rig. It has nice glass but I wish I would have got the Fine Plex or Target dot reticle. The Crosshair posts are way to big in my opinion and the bdc bubbles clutter things up further. Thats my only complaint on an otherwise great scope. I do have the Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 BDC on one of my hunting rigs though and I have to say I love that scope. The eye relief is better and the glass clarity and light transmission is great as well. The reticle seems much better in this scope than the Monarch series. I own one Monarch a Buckmaster and a handful of pro staff scopes of various powers and have had great results with all of them, not one bad apple in the bunch.

I believe the Monarch is Nikons Flagship. I, like BobT see lots of Nikons in the refurbished sales but very few of those are Monarchs. Mostly the prostaff on down with buckmaster mixid in. The Monarchs are known for decent glass. Anything less than a Monarch is hit and miss as far as durability goes. I am glass picky and I would own one.
