Made it out to the range last week, both groups were shot with Southwest 140 gr. Berger VLD out of my .260

The lowest shot was my first out of a clean bore.

Shot #4 was the furthest to the right and I knew I pushed that one out a little. I was kinda upset with myself. But, decent groups anyways. Time to start reloading. Anybody have recommendations for H4350 and 140 gr. VLDs?

My recommendation would be to tighten up the nut behind the trigger. :) Nice shooting!!

I'm fairly new to Savage rifles, is this nut on the action somewhere?

lol thanks Dave!

Yes. This applies to all Savage rifles. The biggest nut is the one that's attached to the owners wallet!! Just look in the mirror....there is usually drool running down his chin and brass marks on his forehead because he keeps looking in the port when he ejects spent rounds trying his darnest to figure out how that works!!!

That's some good shootin' for factory ammo. Nicely done.

And don't believe everything Dave says. He jealous because we're all better looking than him...

41-43 grains of H4350 should get you where you want to be. Nice shooting.

That's only because they comb their hair....and they put band-aid's where the ejection port brass hit's 'em. (It's the chick sympathy thing)
