Are 1\8 inch clicks usefull in normal shooting\target situations or will 1\4 inch be more than adequate? Will be using on a .204 for varmints and target shooting to 400 yds or less. Looking to get new glass something in the 6-24X 40 range.

I really dont think it will matter either way. I believe a 1/8" click will give you more fine tuning adjustments, but for inside of 400 yards you'll be just fine either way.

At 400yds 1/4moa=approx 1" per click of adjustment. 1/8moa= approx. 1/2" of adjustment. So, it really depends on how much precision you really want/ need, how much you feel comfortable w/ "kentucky windage" to hold off for the wind vs. dialing it in, etc. I have 1/8MOA clicks on my 1000yd F class rig to get me closer for the prevailing condition and then only have to hold slightly off for that. However, thats at 1000yds not 400yds. Most of my other scopes- Varmit, etc. are 1/4 moa.

Had a Weaver T24, with 1/8" turrets, not a big deal. It was made for Benchrest shooting where perfection is needed.
