Sorry to those who have seen this question 1000X already but....

Lets say I had a 22-250 and instead of re-barrelling when that one shoots out, is it possible to get the PTG bolt head and re-barrel to .243?

I see they are the same size .473" but the note on the bottom of the thread says NOTE: Just because it will fit doesn't mean it will feed, extract, or eject properly

I know the head space will need correcting but was wondering if there are any other bits that will be needed?

No need to change the bolt head, they are the same for both calibers.

I have used the exact same bolt head to shoot 22-250, 6BR, 243AI, 30-06, and 250 Savage and all fed and extracted perfectly in regards to the bolt head. Like sharpshooter said they are the same, just install and headspace the new barrel and you're good to go.

But.....you could get a new bolt head if you wanted one.

Heck, I ordered one cos it looked so pretty!

Nah, I actually ordered it because of a review I read about the tolerances involved... I think it was on Accurate SHooter.

As I get more addicted to the long range I can see the .243 being a nice step up as a few people on here have said how good the round is and it has a wide range of projectiles.

I also spied the XLR Carbon Chassis.... WHo needs that? ... OMGosh.... Look at IT!!!
