any suggestions on good mounts and rings for a light weight hunting gun? Long action.

What about the tally one piece mounts?

I am not familiar with the tally scope mounts. I use burris tactical bases and burris zee signature rings. If you are looking for a one piece I would recommend the dednutz DNZ series. Hope this helps.

I have the Talley's on my Am. Classic in 250 sav. They are very nice and light.

I've got the Talley lightweight ring/base combo units on my Kimber Montana lightweight carry rifle. They are very nice, IMHO--as is most of the Talley products that I have seen. Depending on scope/turret location, you may need to use the extended versions (I did not, but thought that I would make a mention). If light weight is your goal, the tally one-pieces reign.

i just put a pair of talley one piece lightweight rings/base on my savage 7mm RM..i must say, they are very nice, solid and clean looking. a one piece base/ring setup gives one less chance of something breaking or going out of alignment. I tried to lap the rings, but they were already concentric!!!!!!!
