New 10 TR

First off, what the heck is a 10 TR as I've never heard of such a thing and it's not listed on Savage's website. Second and more importantly, what's it chambered for so we know what size of high cap mags you're looking for - it does make a difference.

Google is your friend. The 10 TR is a special run and it is a LE model. No it is not on the Savage site.

It is a .308. I have a line on a place that may have the mags. Any other ideas are welcome.

It is a model 10 with steel box mag and steel bottom metal.

Ok, so it's nothing more than a 10FP-SR with a DBM and a 2" shorter barrel. Mmmmmmkay! Love it when some retailer orders a "custom" model when there's something almost identical to it already on the standard menu.

SSS offers a 9-round magazine but given how hard it's been to get parts from Savage lately they may not be readily available. The other option would be the one referenced above.

According to Savage this is an LE only model and it can be picked up for well below what the other LE models can be had for. Picked mine up this week for $450 + local tax which is about $300 less than what my 10PC cost and this one has the tactical bolt handle (not the oversized knob) and an EGW rail as well as 5 r rifling, threaded barrel, 1.5-6lb accutrigger, accustock, DBM etc. Under 5 bills out the door
Heck of a bargain if you can find one.
