Barrel band on the Savage 99?

How was the barrel band attached to the Savage 99?

I have a line on a new forearm w/o any swivel holes. So, I am looking at getting a barrel band added.

Thoughts?

Only a few 99's had barrel bands. Most have a lug dovetailed into the bottom of the barrel.
