Hello All - I just order a new Savage 10 FCP-K in 308. I traded off my Remington 700 .223 to get something else. Anyway my new Savage is on the way. I am going to put a Weaver 3-15x30 on the rifle, because that was the scope on my last rifle and really liked it. I was going to get Medium Weaver Rings for it, but looking at the pictures on the forum, should I get low rings for it? I know the barrel sits up out of the stock more than the 700. I just don't want the scope to sit to high. Any info would be great. Thanks much.

Your scope will have a lot to do with determining ring height. Mine requires Medium Rings using a NightForce 12x42. If I went with a lower power scope or different brand scope, I might need the low rings.

Hopefully someone with the exact set up will have the answers.

If the objective is 30mm like your first post stated, low rings would be the best. As far as how high your rings need to be, it is all about centerlines, objective and barrel diameters as well as eyepiece clearance on the backend.

thanks. I order both the medium and low to be safe. I can send the ones I don't use back. I am excited to build another rifle.

I have a feeling the low ones are going to be the ones that work, try them first. Good Luck
