I am having a hard time find a 308 Stevens for a project and was wondering if any other calibers use the same bolt head and extractor setup? If so which ones.

Thanks

For a short action:
243, 22-250, 7-08, 260.....
Ummm, I'm sure there's more...
All the same.

You just looking for a bolt head? Or a rifle with that bolt head setup?

In a Stevens the 22-250 and 243 will be the same as 308.

.....you can even use a long action for any of the 30-06* based cartridge in a pinch. You really need to join up and find something in the classifieds section. Are you dead set on a stevens? Is it because of the price they went for a few years agao?

Im not dead set on a Stevens but am looking for a reasonable priced action for a project. As for joining and using the classifieds, it probably wouldn't help much as I am in Canada and buying anything out of the US is out of the question.

Thanks

What are you planning on building?

A beginner rifle for F/TR in 308. Thinking a 1 in 11 twist heavy palma barrel, Rifle basix trigger, single shot follower epoxied in and the mag setup deleted. Not sure on a stock yet. EGW or Farrel rail and probably a Sightron 8-32 or 10 -50. Not sure if Im going to chamber it for 155's or 185's yet.

Thanks
