I decided to get a 10 FCP-K.

Now I need to decide if I want to use a CDI Bottom metal set up, which will cost about $300 or just use the Sharp Shooters Supply 9 Round Magazine which I can get 2 of for about $150.

I'm not sure if there is any bottom metal for the new acustock since the bolt release is in front of the trigger so this may be a mute point

The main thing I don't like about the DBM is the recessed release, it looks very inaccessible.

Is there any thing else I need to consider?

Mine sss mag(308) takes 10 rounds, magazine attachment is just slightly slack...But I'm very pleased with it

One thing to consider is that the you can probably load your rounds longer with a Savage/SSS magazine. OTOH the AI magazine is as close to a standard as you can get (but that's why you also inherit the mag length limitations).

In the past two months, in the cold. with heavy gloves on I've had no problem releasing the magazine.

To add to this on Friday doing some mentoring work at Ft. Campbell another "retiree" had a rifle with the CDI setup they are very high quality, got to play with it with both 5 and 10 round AICS mags, flawless operation.

I've got a 2011 Savage 12 LRP .260 on order and I am contemplating purchasing one of these acme detatchable magazine kits. The reason for this is I would like to get a longer O.A.L. so am hoping someone can tell me if I will be able to achieve this with these kits. Plus I want a single stack feed.

You also have the acme set up sold by SSS, it is very nice, and would be my choice.
