I think that most folks with this caliber prefer heavier bullet weights than 180. I use primarily 210-225gr. Maybe a good place to start would be with the 8mm-06/338-06 load book.

Is that an ackley chamber? If not, that's a pretty speedy load for a standard 338-06. Is that a book load? If so, where did you get the data? I can't touch 2800fps with a 210gr bullet.

As luck would have it I have 4 boxes loaded right now... (My build was on a Rem 700, Douglas bbl, 'Standard' A-square chamber).

180gr accubond, 55gr Varget, seated 3.390"
215gr gameking, 53gr RL15, seated 3.340"
250gr partition, 61gr H4831, seated 3.330"
225gr TSX, 51gr RL15, seated 3.360"

A couple of those are max in my rifle. Start 2 or 3 grains lower and work up.

The accubond is a tough bonded bullet. Sure, folks use heavier loads in this round, but it will get the job done.
