I need a little advice here....I'm pretty handy, but by no means am I an expert gunsmith. I have a Stevens 200 centerfeed in .270 that I bought a couple of years ago at Academy Sports for cheap. It had the flimsy plastic stock that I didn't care for, so I finally ordered a walnut stock from Boyds. The stock itself is beautiful and takes the magazine perfectly; however, when I tighten the action screws, the bolt will bind up and I can not cycle it. I pulled the magazine out to see if that was causing the problem...and it was not. With the magazine removed, once the actions screws are tightened, the bolt still binds up.

Any suggestions?

My apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section.

Thanks,

Kansan

Yes, I added a washer under the forward receiver screw and the action works as slick as ever....
