has any one tried the single shot load ramp from sharp shooter supply for the Edge. i can get it in but then the mag no longer goes in. my gun is in .223 and the mag is metal with the plastic surround at the base. can the mag be dissasembled? thanks for any help.

This was my solution. I don't think the SSS adapter will work in an edge/axis.

Just take your barreled action out the stock and wrap some paper around the bottom of the action and look how a bullet feeds when supported on that paper. It is very easy to implement for a few cents.

I put one of these in a model 10 in 6x47,[after a 3 month wait],I just took out the magazine and JB welded the adapter in place, works as
well as I had hoped for

pdog2062 my edge is used almost exclusively on my bait site at home which involves loading the gun in the dark in the kitchen, then i shoot out the mud room door. the load ramp is perfect for this and i can leave the magazine out alltogether.however it would be great if you guys could carry and sell a dummy magazine base that will latch in just like the original magazine. so that's you're assignment. get to work on it.

The single shot adapter is not meant to be used with a magazine. If you using a single shot adapter why would you try to insert a magazine? It works well, The ramp just fits in the action and is held in place by the stock.

i didn't want to insert a magazine,
i just wanted to fill the void where the mag base was.

Hold it in with the piece of pop can like in the thread I posted. It sits flush with the bottom of the action, does it not ?

what i finaly did was to cut a piece of firm but flexable foam. cut it so it fits tightly into the magazine space in the bottom of the stock. i then used some camo tape to cover the white foam. it will work for my application. i really like the load ramp.i'm sure that someone will make a plastic cover that will snap into this space in the stock of the savage Edge
