I've searched the forum and couldn't find the info I'm looking for. Looking for some help identifing a 30BR rifle I just picked up. The action is a savage that looks to be a model 10. Serial # is F7607XX. Any help pointing me in the right direction (other than calling Savage Arms) would be appreciated.

I plan on using this for 100-300 BR score shooting. It has a Kreiger 1-18 barrel and is mounted in a McMillan edge stock.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like it started life as a short action 10 then someone added the 30 BR Kreiger.....hope you like reloading.

Run the Serial # through the Partsfinder on the Savage website and you will know what it started its' life as from the factory.

Since you did not provide the complete number I had to edit the x's to real numbers. That series was primarily a BVSS model with the last ten being model 11's. Use this link to check to make sure

Excellent and thanks for the link. It was a model 12 BVSS in 22-250. I do enjoy reloading and look forward to working up loads for it.
