Hi all, so ... How does one remove the pistol grip cap savage emblem thingy off the bottom of an axis stock?

Very carefully. They usually fall off when you really don't need or want it to.

I've used a single edge razor blade to get it started then gently pry with a thin blade screwdriver....


OR..... Tell the rifle & yourself you don't want that emblem to come off. It'll probably fall off & get lost within a few days.

It is glued on. What worked for me was to simply gently pry it off with a knife edge.
I can't promise that would work for someone else, or that if I did it again the cap might not break.

Thanks. Ran around the grove with razor and popped it off. Now...how to strengthen forward of the pistol grip.

A short piece of aluminum rod or steel rod or even a long bolt & some epoxy. Drill the hole on an angle, coat the rod with epoxy, shove some epoxy in the hole & drive the bolt in.

Sounds easy, doesn't it?

A couple of the guys here have done it. Shouldn't be to awfully difficult.
