Well, it definitely started out as one. Notice anything different? Besides the color...

That's the BA bolt handle too. The stock one is a ball right?

SSS Trigger, Lug, Bolt Handle, Nut Delete, Paint, 20MOA base. ????

Worn out Ropers?

Haha! Those aren't my ropers. They belong to Brad at Phoenix custom rifles.
Yes no barrel nut(Krieger barrel), yes sss trigger, that's my own design, swept back bolt(I did a thread on it), pt&g recoil lug, its fde cerakote, and warne 20moa base.
These are all add ons that don't make it no longer an fcp-k. It's something else and is in plain sight...
I guess it should be said that the fcp-k uses the same action as most other accustock models. Changes I made to this action make it clearly not an accustock action anymore :)

There are two other changes besides the big one that have not been mentioned. One of them takes a real keen eye - REAL keen...

1. Side bolt release and
2. BAS spacer (which makes me deduce that a bolt lift kit is installed, likely a thrust bearing (ball bearings in races) based on the apparent thickness of the spacer).

DINGDINGDING! We have a winner! There's still the one other thing that no one will probably notice, but the biggie is the side bolt release. I sent the action in for a rebarrel/cerakote and went ahead and had my gunsmith mill .078" off the side of the receiver. I already had the sear, and that's all that's needed to do away with the trigger guard bolt release.

Did your gunsmith do any millwork to the bottom of the receiver?

No. Should he have? I compared this receiver to my FCP hs precision and the flat was the only thing the fcp-k receiver didn't have.

Got it temporarily installed for a teaser pic. I'll probably do a separate thread on the complete build, as there was a lot more to it than just a rebarrel/cerakote job.

That is a really cool build BW! What caliber did you select?

I would love to see a thread on the complete build.

No. Should he have? No, not that I know of, however, since you said:

Rattfink, it's chambered in Remington 260 with an extra .060" freebore over saami spec (to seat the bullet out farther - more case capacity, more efficient launch of the bullet). I would have gone farther but my gunsmith wasn't too comfortable with doing it so we compromised. I wanted to be able to seat 140 amax to a COAL of 2.955 with a .010 jump but that would have been about .150 over saami and may have put the bullet already out of the case before it was completely guided into the rifling - bad for accuracy. After discussing it, we decided .060 was a better idea.

Ah, duh!
The other thing that nobody noticed was the sear return spring. It looks like the end was cut off with dikes, because it was, lol! It's a lighter weight spring to reduce lock time a bit. But with the fairly heavy sear cam return spring on the sss trigger I'm beginning to wonder if i need a spring on the sear at all...but safety factor probably not worth the risk.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who hates the new bolt release in the trigger guard.

Yep. I had to heavily modify the release button on my fcp-k to fit my favored sss comp trigger.
