Without regard to the barrel or stock they come with as a total package, can someone differentiate (in detail) the difference between a Model 11 and Model 12FV action. I see NSS sells the as different products for different prices.
Thanks,
Hoot

Boy, I looked at every thread in that forum and could not find one who's title implied it addressed the difference between the model 11 and 12fv actions. I read a few that held promise of shining some light on the differences, but they didn't pan out. Could you be more specific of the exact thread so I don't have to read through all of them?

About all I know for sure is that they're both blued.

I have a 12FV and a 12BVSS but have not seen a model 11 up close. I'm trying to decide if the blued model 12 is worth paying more for than the model 11 action to build a rig up from.

Thanks,
Hoot

Have a model 11 and a model 12 VLP, and the difference that I can tell is really just the trigger. The 12 has a slightly lighter pull. From what I have learned, that is really the only difference between a model 11 and a 12FV.

OK, FV, synthetic stock with heavy barrel.

So what is the difference between the 11 and 12 and 14 and 16? I didnt find that in the faq, or at least if its there the subject title is not clear.

To answer your question, Savage only makes two actions, a long and a short, everything else is a variation of that. A model 11 and a model 12 are the exact same action, they only difference would be the 12 has a lighter spring in the accu-trigger. Finish has some things to play as well. A model 10Fp will have a pauperized finish, and a 10g will have a blued finish.A model 11 will be blued, a model 12 can be blued or stainless. a model 16 is stainless. but in all incidents they are the same action.
