Got a Boyd's stock, doesn't fit my early 110

I thought I had ordered the correct stock (staggered-feed, long-action) but apparently this stock does not accommodate the rear sight dovetail step on the barrel, and it does not clear the fire-control-group's adjustment screw or bolt stop. :frusty:

Any suggestions? Am I going to run into any other issues if I try and fit this stock to my rifle? Thanks.

If the distance between action screws is the same, you could proceed carefully with a dremel and make it work.

Mine is serial # "6656", so it's one of the first 110s ever made :)

Other than the stock, I didn't really plan on doing anything else to it, it came with a "El Paso Weaver" K4 fixed power scope and Weaver-brand pivoting scope rings so the scope can be moved out of the way of the iron sights. It shoots good, I just don't like the ugly brown stock.

Put a little black shoe polish on the bottom of the gun and place it into to the stock and it will show you where its hitting and where you need to remove material. Poor mans inletting black.
