Stevens 200 223 Centerfeed to 308

Hi

I want to convert my centerfeed stevens 200 223 to 308 bolt face and magazine.

Is this as easy as removing the bolt head and baffle and swapping magazines?

I am in Australia so a little less easy to find the parts sometimes but is there a part number for the 308 mag or could I just removed the blocking piece out of the 223 magazine and widen the lips a little and extend the follower?

I see CDI do a bottome metal detachable mag setup but I have also read that I can just use other savage parts to do it as well. Would this mean bottome metal from a short action with DBM should be workable? I realise that this means some stock mods as well.

For a blind mag setup, just change the bolt head and baffle, and the mag and follower to a 308 style and you're set.

If you are changing to a DBM setup, then a DBM stock and Savage bottom metal and 308 mag and follower with the bolt head swap and you're set.

FYI, the factory mag body and follower are the same for the DBM and the blind mag. The body just snaps onto the DBM bottom plate.

Thanks Boots I thought it was that straight forward. Think for budget it will just stay blind mag for the minute.
