A friend of mine did a build on this model in 223, he rebarreled it into a .260, and his mag well is to short to hold the rounds, also he has to pull the bolt to remove alive round. is there anyway he can get a larger mag well to hold the rounds?? or will he only be able to use this as a single shot?

Never mind the closer we look at it i dont think its possible

Yes, all the parts are modular and can be changed to fit the .260 , He needs a .308 magazine box and follower and also the baffle behind the bolt head can be changed to a shorter style to allow extraction. All the parts are avaliable from savage and some from midway usa

i was thinking the 308 box would work but then we noticed the bolt head stoped to far forward to chamer another round, glad to hear that you can get new parts to fix this problem im sure he will be happy to hear it also

To make the bolt go back longer all you need to do is change out the front baffle.
