Just got my third one in, haven't been able to shoot them yet, but I wanted to get some maintenance and mods out of the way first. Been reading about the accurtrigger bic light spring mod, but wondering about other things. The FV-SR has a crunchy bolt, and was wondering if I needed to clean it before putting it to work.

I clean off the factory metal perservative (cosmoline) used for warehouse storage on new guns. Especially the chamber, bolt and barrel. It looks like brown rust on a white rag when you clean off the first time. If left in the chamber, it along with carbon residue will build up and cause the rimfire cases to stick eventually leading to ejection problems. I also bedded the action and around the bottom plate action bolts since the bottom metal is thin and appears to flex if more than 15 lbs of torque is applied.

I have DIP bottom metal, and should be ordering an EVO stock soon, just wondering about cleaning, polishing, tweaking, etc. Thanks for the reply jpdown

Anyone have any links for trigger disassembly?
