Savage 10FCP-HS .308cal Scope is Leupold Mark4 4.5x14 30mm tube Ferrel 20moa picatinny base Rings= ~.375"

I find I cannot get a good cheek weld with this setup. Scope is too high, more like a chin weld. I believe the Leupold has enough adjustment for 1k without the 20moa rail.

What can you recommend for lowering the scope?

The Farrell bases are quite tall, but you have to remember your scope height is a combination of your base and rings. You didn't say what height rings you have, but with a 40-42mm objective scope you should be able to get away with low rings on the Farrell base and with a 50-56mm you should usually be able to get away with medium rings. The only exception is if you have a really short scope where the cone for the objective bell would come into contact with the Farrell base, in which case you'll need a different base.

Got to go with mad man on this but I might be inclined to measure the rings you have and check the clearance under the objective and the eyepiece. You might be able to us the lows anyway with the Farrel. some lows are different than others. Dont rule out a cheek rest spacer I have the same problem with all three of my hs in the prone and use a choate spacer with a piece of leather between the stock and the cheek piece. it has a lean but at least I dont have to put my fingers in there to rest my cheek bone on. good luck
