Best Ammo For .308 Axis

Just got a .308 Axis and I was wondering if it was ok to use 175 grain ammo or should only 168 grain ammo be used. I would also like to know what the best preforming ammunition is in a stock Axis .308 is. Also I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with sub-sonic ammo, and there opinions about it.

Any round within .308 Win. specs will be fine to shoot in your rifle. Unfortunately, no one can tell you which load will shoot best in your rifle. The Axis is generally a very accurate rifle that shoots most loads well, but you will need to try various loads and see which your rifle likes best.

I found that the 175 class was capable of very small groups at 100 in my sons rifle.

All guns are different, yours may like the 168gr or maybe the 175....

I have found in mine it likes the Sierra 168gr HPBT Match with RL15
