Savage 12 4.25" Wood stock to Duramax require new screws

My buddy has an older Savage 12 with the 4.25" screw spacing in a wood stock. He wants to put the action in a Bell and Carlson Duramax.

Will he require different - shorter stock screws?

Might need to round up some screws out of a tuperware stock some wood ones are longer,but you can cut them.

Wanna trade? What are the lengths you have and what do you need? I just went through this and bought new screws from Savage and still too short. Thanks, Steve

I just went to the hardware store and got a couple of 1/4-28 black socket head screws in various lengths so I could use the best fitting screw(s). My hardware store even carries grade 8, just not black.
