I'm trying to lighten the pull of my 3 screw trigger on a 110.I already put in the .040 wire but it still has a lot tension on the sear from the sear/bolt release spring.I can take the trigger spring completely off and still have a 3 1/2lb pull. What can be done to lighten sear spring if anything?

Make a new one.

You can polish the sear surfaces if you are skilled at metalworking. You don't want to remove much material.

You may also be dealing with a very heavy firing pin spring setting.

always test you rifle for proper function after adjusting a trigger. By that I mean closing the bolt fast/hard and bumping the stock hard with the safety off to see if the trigger holds.

You might be right about the firing pin spring.I'm going to try swapping bolts with another rifle just to see if that has any effect.

Different bolt, same results. My barrel for this action is finally on the way so it's time to order another SAV2.That'll fix it!

That's a bad idea. The savage trigger is a scintered metal. It's very easy to stone through the hard surface and expose the soft material underneath. This material will wear very fast.

You can just replace the sear spring with one from McMaster.
