Wow. So I get the long action Hog Hunter in. I have Talley one piece base/rings. I find that using those base/rings I cannot mount my Weaver Grand Slam 3-10 scope. It will not allow the scope to be positioned correctly. I cannot bring the scope rearward enough.

Sooo..I ordered a Warne tactical Picatinny base and some Leupold rings. I should be able to get the scope where I need it now, I hope. That long action is long.

And I may just try this rifle with the stock iron sights. They are really nice in my opinion. I can shoot with irons. That brass bead on the front sight is sweet...really.

it is so easy to remove that site and put it in storage why spend all that money to mount your scope too high

Is it possible the OP needs to bring it rearward for proper eye relief?

No need to remove the sights to mount my Weaver scope. BTW...here is a photo of a rather beefy muzzle brake that I just mounted.

I figure I can just skewer the animal now...no need to waste any ammo.

Wow! That is a weapon all of it's own now, like a really mad bayonet!

That brass bead on the front sight is sweet...really.I have the model 10 FCM Scout with the same Williams front sight. I replaced it with a fiber optic fire sight for mornings and evenings when I could not see the brass bead very well. Several members have reported that they broke their front sights trying to move the blade out with a punch. I bit the bullet and bought a Williams sight pusher. Worked like a champ.

My dear ole mother had a meat tenderizer that looked just like that. :)

Yeah..well that brake goes back to Grizzly. I am picking up a Precision Armament M-41 Brake. Much better. Grizzly sent me the wrong brake. I did not order the meat tenderizer version.
