Bedding an internal magazine stock

I know, sorry, another bedding thread. I recently picked up a model 110 in 270 off a buddy. I want to bed the stock and in all my searching has left me still wondering the best way to do this with the internal magazine. Has anyone attempted this and willing to give some guidance. From first look I would just clay the magazine up in to the action and have the two meet, but how do I get the void between them molded together?

Anyone have a picture of a finished bedded internal magazine stock?

Either pop the mag off or run a bead of clay around the mag where it meets the action. I did none of the above and had lots of fun removing it but i managed

After bedding i shot this at 300 yrds with dome ragged holes at 1&200 yrds.

Centerfeed.
I removed the mag from the stock, put release agent in the magazine well as well as on the receiver, etc...then taped the stock up and spread bedding agent on the curved sides of the stock adjacent to the mag well. I also gooped bedding agent around the bolts and pillars. I put it all together and let it sit upside down. I used q-tips to clean up the ooze a bit and after it was hard, went around with a razor knife and cleaned up the edges. I also used a dremel to cut out an insert for the magazine L-clip so that the clip top was flush with the bedding.

That's what it looks like, warts and all. It's not too pretty right now. A bit of the bedding material came off the side when I was cleaning up, and there is a small gap in the area to the right of the rear action screw (that area would have to be rrimmed for sear/bolt release clearance). I have not yet completed cutting out the rear pillar to provide clearance for the trigger. It is solid around the pillars, however, and so I am thinking it will still work well and provide a firm bed for the action. If not, I'll take it out and start over.

I removed the mag.. and even with the little bit of bedding hanging over in the mag well, nothing binds or touches...

I taped the hole in the action, left the hole in the stock unfilled. I figured that if I needed it sand it off, that would work better. I just coated the surfaces that would mate with the action and just let it press out hydrolically. You can see how little actually migrated out into the mag well on mine. I didnt sand anything.

Oh ill add this too.
I used the araglass gel kit. Its a pretty thick consistency that wont run on you. Just have to make sure everything is set for where its going to squish out

What was used to fill the magazine hole while you put the epoxy in?Nothing. I left it unfilled. I put a piece of masking tape down the front, across the botrom, and up the back. I used release agent on the sides and the top of the tape. I used release agent on the receiver all around the magazine area. This way, any goop that ran into the magazine area of the rifle or the stock could be cut out and didn't stick to anyplace it wasn't supposed to be.
For plugging holes, I used plumbers putty. It is inexpensive, available at every hardware store, easy to remove, and does not harden.

I have noticed one thing.Neither of you have removed the factory finish and roughed up the area to be bedded.You really should do this for good adhesion,that is probably why it peeled off.I grind it with a dremel using a sandpaper drum at least or use sand paper,120 to rough the area up good to provide a surface to allow the epoxy to stick good.

Lay tape down in the barrel channel to float it. Tape the tang to float that. Tape the bottom of the recoil lug and several pieces on the front side of it. Tape the mag box and the top and sides of the stock in that area. Put putty in around the trigger sear area and the mag well if you can. I also put putty under the barrel nut to stop forward movement.

I got two old action screws and ground the head off and used them for guides. Wrap them in tape and mask them as well.

Then get your masking agent cover the trigger, sear, action and the tape around the area. Anything that it may get into. Be sure to mask the action up to the scope base.
Rough everything that you want to bed with 220 grit paper and mix it up lay it down. Drop the action in and use tape to hold the action tight to the stock.

I have done that before, and it works. This time I did remember, however, for some reason I didn't remember until after the fact. Your point is well taken, and I should have prepared a checklist so I didn't skip any steps. Slow and steady wins the race.

I used JB Weld as the bedding material and roughed up the stocjk as mentioned. Be careful to not get too much of it into the mag well before installing the barreled action and you should be fine.
