Has anyone tried this powder in their .308? If so what kind of results did you have and what bullet were you using. I got this for my .223 but am considering using it for my .308 as well.

I have some that I'm planning on using in a 220 swift and 22-250, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully soon I'll load up some rounds and see what I can do with it.

I'll have some data soon, I'll be testing this powder out in a Federal case lit by a CCI#34 mag primer, topped off with a 178 gr. Hornady HPBT.

The good news is there's published data for IMR 4007 and .308 listed in the Hodgon load data center. I'm starting 1 grain under min. load because I'll be using a magnum style primer. It looks like a versitile powder used in a wide variety of calibers. It's also on the slow burning side so I'm thinking it might do better with the heavier bullets for .308 but I'll also test the 168's too.

I originally bought 4007 for .243, I always wanted a case filling powder for the .243 and now I have it lol. I've loaded up a few for the .308 and it would be a compressed load at max charge with the Federal brass. I'd think Winchester brass would be optimal if a guy was trying to get a high muzzle velocity, but all I need is accuracy.

I have 2 .308 rifles and they both shoot good with the correct seating depth and right powder charge of any of the following components,

IMR 4064
Varget
Reloader 15
165 NBT
168 balistic silver tip
168 A max
168 SMK
168 Hornady match
175 SMK
178 Hornady match
CCI 200
Fed 210Match
So I'm pretty sure I'll find a good .308 load with the IMR 4007 super short cut. I'll make sure I post up the results, it might be a couple weeks before I get it done. I'm too busy between reloading for match's and shooting in them on the weekends.

How do you like it for the 22-250? Got any load data that I can try in mine?

I like it great in everyting I use it in. When I first started using it in the 22-250. I could not find any info in reloading books. So got my info here.

Now I am finding it hard to find around here as the dealers don't carry it and they don't want to order it.
