Hi guys, new member here. I have a Savage / Valmet 2400 n 12ga / 308 Win. I bought in the mid to early 70's.

How do I mount a scope on this thing? I think it takes Sako rings and bases, and if so, which model? It is hard for me to see clearly any more and I shure would like to keep hunting with this fine combo.

Thank You for any help possible.

Hank

Here is a couple of pictures of the 2400

Apparently Sako makes a set for the 2400, using the opti-lock mounts and rings.

I know I’m a little late to the discussion , years late . Lol. But, I just found the best mount for my 222/12ga. The gun has a sako tapered dovetail base from the factory . The contessa xs for model 85 sako fits perfect. It was very expensive, but now I have a nice pictanny rail that I can mount anything on .
