barrle switch questions

Hey guys I'm new here I am wondering if I can swap barrels on my model 111 22-250 and change it to a 6mm I have a bunch of brass and dies and bullets would like to use the caliber seems like a good one. Also if possible where to get a barrel looking for 24-26 inch and would like to keep it light if possible . Also don't have a ton of money to spend so please keep that in mind , would like to keep it under $300. Thanks

Yes you can swap and for a barrel I'd check out www.mcgowenoutlet.com I absolutely LOVE my McGowen barrel and think it's every bit as good as the other custom barrels I've owned over the years.

Welcome to the addiction. You will be fine with that swap only have to change the barrel. If you are changing the barrel yourself you will hear multiple ways and tools to change it. Keep it simple, if you have a vise get an action wrench (take the handle out) put it in the vise and then get a barrel nut wrench (for old style with groves, if new style remove with a pipe wrench and toss and get one with groves). And you might need a spanner wrench with a rubber strap for removal the first time.
