Questions about a Target Rifle build

I am considering a F/TR build. I already have a .308 model 12 action. My questions are, is there any additional benefits to the 3 screw target actions (strenght, accuracy, etc) and is there any benefit to going nutless on the barrel. I can get a gunsmith to do the barrel work for no charge, so would it be better to buy a barrel blank and have him true the action threads and face along with the barrel threads to each other. The barrel is going to be 30" and a heavy contour so if the target action is better suited, then I will keep my model 12 action for another build and get a target action.

The nice thing about the target action is the trigger can be adjusted very light and I have 2 with right bolt left port great for bench work
