I have been thinking pretty hard about getting a reamer and cutting a few barrels in 50 Sin. I know what you are thinking, WTH is a 50 Sin. Well it is a 50 cal cartridge that just happens to shoot the 50 Beowulf ammo, now you are thinking why not just call it a 50 Beowulf. Well I checked and they are very clear that "Beowulf" is a trademarked name. I could call it 12.7x42mm but I like to be a little different.
I have done quite a few of the 458-425 wesly richards, also known as a 458 with a propitiatory name used in ar-15 rifles and I figured the 50 Sin would make a great addition to it. Using a 7.62x39mm bolt head it would be an easy fit in a Savage and there is quite a bit of ammo out there and Starline makes brass for it. Should be a great little thumper, maybe a 16" barrel with a straight 4x scope on it and a detachable mag for a great hog rifle. Should hear more about the fun soon, just need to get a barrel on the way and a reamer.
