my new Mark II G 22 lr is grouping 3 shot groups at 50 M from a Caldwell front rest and bag butt rest. 3 different scopes, target, sub sonic to HV, 2 to 4 MOA. 3 to 4 hundred rounds. stock screws at different torque. don't think this is acceptable accuracy from this rifle. my 55 year old 24 DL 22 mag over 20 ga will shoot 3 shots under a nickel every time with a 50+ year ole 1x4x20 Swift scope. should I contact Savage customer service with this problem on just give it a new home and try something else?

I couldnt live with 4-8 inch groups from a .22 at 50. If you have eliminated scope, mounts, ammo etc... i'd definitely give them a call.
Rimfires are funny. I once bought a 10-22 because if it's great reputation for accuracy, and I couldn't make it shoot for anything. Maybe you just got a lemon.

I would definitely check into it further. My old dirty Marlin 60 with iron sights will shoot 1-2 inch groups at 50 yards all day long, there is no reason to accept anything less from any rifle IMHO.

groups run around 2 to 4 in at 50m, this is still unacceptable. my 243 Edge will cut 3 leaf clovers at 100m when I do my part. sometimes it will leave a little paper between the holes, still tickles me to death for less than &500.00 invested.

Unacceptable in my opinion. I'd check the stock right around the action screw holes as the stocks can easily get cracked there with too much torque on the action screws. Other than that, contact Savage, there's something definitely wrong. They do send out some lemon Mark IIs from time to time, but they will usually make it right without too much drama.

What torque settings did you use? I'm having a similar adventure with a 64F.
