dumb question about 223 action

I'm looking at purchasing a 223 rifle for the action. it appears that there is a block at the forward part of the ejection port. Is this removable? Does it limit what I could rebarrel the action to? I tried to search for the answer but I don't know what the piece is called.

if you are talking about the front baffle it can be changed
or cut down

yeah, i guess that is what i'm talking about. this would be my second savage build. the first was a 6.5x55 on a long action. this is a bvss action that i'm looking at buying. i would like to convert to a 300 wsm, 308, or 260 if possible. other than changing out bolt heads and magazine parts, what else would i need?

Very easy to remove & replace the extended front baffle with a standard baffle, especially when changing bolt heads.
