now I have a shooting buddy who shoots H380 and punches 1/2" groups all day at 100. THink he has over 15 firings on the brass without doing anything to the cases besides sizing. He has shot over 4000 rounds I believe in this one barrel and it is still shooting

To add to my post above about "Reloader 15 by far" I was shooting Varget in all my .308 loads and was shooting very well with it. I was shooting a Remington 700 5R Mil-Spec rifle, all my buddies and people at the range were wowing and aahhing at my groups, then a buddy of mine bought the same rifle I had, and started shooting the same load, his didnt shoot as well, we tried several differnet Varget loads and and seating depts, but it never would shoot as well as mine. Another person recomneded RL-15, and his started shooting lights out as well, after some time I even tried it, and my groups even got abit better. I still believe Varget is a very good powder, we use it in .223,6.5 Creedmoor ( when I cant find H4350) and several other loads, but the more I use RL-15 the more I like it in .308 with the .168 and 175g bullets.

I'm not about to give up on Varget but the most accurate load I've ever found for my 10FLP uses Reloader 15 - and it's my hunting load! It's too heavy for anything but stand hunting - but man, it shoots (five shots around 1.5 inches at 200 yards)

Bullet: Nosler 168 gr. Ballistic Silvertip
Powder: Alliant Reloader 15 46.0 grs
Primer: Federal 210
Case: Winchester
LOAL: 2.895 (2.263 Base to Ogive)
Average Velocity: 2663.36 fps
Extreme Spread: 4.69
Standard Deviation: 2.64

Seated out for reduced bullet jump but 100% function from magazine.

I really like ... RL-15, but I have to say that's purely for temp stability. If you're willing to chase the powder charge with temp changes, then it's really hard to beat IMR 4064 with 168gr-175gr bullets.

Very interesting. Is it cold weather you've had trouble with 4064 in? The military switched from Re-15 to IMR 4064 for the long-range round because it was more temp-resistant in extreme heat. Don't recall what the comparison was in the cold.
