Hornady brass can be a bit softer, I wonder if that is a contributing factor?

Ryan, what part of Iowa are you from, I am in SE Iowa myself.

Tons, TONS of people are having the same problem you are. I did too but sold the rifle before realizing the fix. Yes, lapua brass is the way to go, but it DID NOT fix my bolt lift problems. It seemed to get worse as the bullet weights went up (which means pressure goes up). Mine never grouped well either, an least not at 100 yards.
The problem with sending it to savage is they will test fire it with their 215 grain factory loads and tell you there's nothing wrong with your rifle.
The very best thing to do, honestly, is rebarrel it, and in doing so, go with a longer barrel (28-30") and get a slowerslower rifling, like 10 or 11 twist. The result will be a match barrel that shoots lights out and no more sticky bolt.
Of course that's not cheap, do the only other option is to re check/adjust the headspace. Chances are its too tight. That is what several other owners are finding...

I live around Waterloo, need to find a range that is long enough for it to really show what she can do.... i think its a bad batch of ammo.... I shot the rounds over my Chronograph didnt look at the data till i got home Hornady says it should run 2745 mine ran 2864fps on average thats 119fps over average soooo im thinking the ammo is bad.... or my chamber is way to ****ed tight

Very possible on the bad ammo, might give hornady a call and see if anyone else has reported issues with that lot of ammo.
