Yes, and maybe. About four months ago, there was a small glutton of NEW LC brass for sale...so...no crimped primer pocket.

....and....so that you no....not ALL LC brass has the same internal dimensions, so it is best to sort by headstamp/date.

Lake City Match brass is not crimped, but it's not very common, either.

If you have a bunch with crimped primers, the Dillon super swage works
quite well to remove the crimps. The RCBS swage never worked well for
me. You can also ream them.

Some mil surp brass has been fired in machine guns with loose chambers,
and you might need a small-base size die to squeeze it back down enough to get
it to chamber for you. If that's the case, be prepared to do a lot of trimming,
because they'll grow in length when you do a drastic resize.

I guess what I'm getting at is dealing with mil surp brass can be kind of a
pain. You might want to get a small batch to wrestle with before you buy
a huge batch.

There are quite a few places that sell LC brass that is prepped with the crimp already removed, this is the brass that I shoot most of the time, works great, fire forms fine in my 223 AI.

Its possible for some people to mistake a ring crimp, for no crimp at all, and some military brass will have a ring crimp and others will have the three punch crimp. If in doubt (as in already deprimed) weigh them compared to commercial brass, the extra weight is quite noticeable. Regardless of the type of crimp, I have had no problems in depriming and I just ream them out, F.L. resize, trim if necessary, and reduce the charge, until you know how they act. The last batch of 250 L City, I got off E-Bay only cost $10.

Kind of ironic that this thread was started when I was enroute from Nebraska to Glendive, MT. In tow with me, 1100 rounds of 1x fired LC brass in 308. Needed something to keep me busy, so I figured this was as good of time as any.

After sizing, prepping primer pocket, removing flash from primer hole, inside/outside chamfering, I weighed 10 different cases. Weight varied from 175.6 to 177.8. Sounds like a lot, but, take some time and weigh some commercial or expensive brass. This is rather GOOD brass.
