Just picked up a new axis 22-250 last week went to the range.
With factory loads gun was very accurate at 100 yards. 0.407 groups with hornady
V-max 50 grain. Should be able to do a little better when I get time to sit down and load
Up some custom match rounds. Well I hate two things about the gun!
1) the scope. I just picked up a vortex viper 6.5-20x44 and what bases and rings do you recommend?
Don't want any bolt contact with the scope.

2) trigger sucks so I took 1.5 coils off and dropped the pull weight some but not enough
For me. What is the best trigger for the axis?

Also anyone here in Canada building stocks for the axis?

Check out this link. http://www.savageshooters.com/content.php?193-Savage-Axis-Modifications-FAQ-s

There is a fellow on here in Canada that has built some nice stocks but I think he is no longer doing it. Word is that some manufacturer has something in the works.

No problem. Let us know what you come up with. You will see that the question of stocks comes up a couple times a week. I was there a couple weeks ago. I have a couple things cooking on my end. Will be meeting with a machinist this afternoon to take a look at an aluminum chassis set up. If all goes well, I may have an inexpensive (all relative) alternative to the factory stock.
