I'm in need of a new scope. My Millet TRS-1 has a serious tracking problem and I don't want to wait 6-8 weeks for the repair and miss two matches. I figure I'll get it fixed under warranty then keep it as a back up.

I'm looking at this:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/594844/sightron-siii-long-range-rifle-scope-30mm-tube-6-24x-50mm-side-focus-dot-reticle-matte

It's at the extreme upper end of my budget and I can't afford to make a mistake. I hoping someone here has experience with this series scope, good or bad and can relay that info. Thanks.

I have used the 8 x 32 for prairie dogs out to 1000 yrds or so and am very impressed by them. The glass is very clear and the turrets track well with positive clicks, without spending twice as much I don't think you can match the Sightron SIII's.

I have that scope but with a different reticle. I haven't tried it at long range yet but the glass is clear.

SIII's have excellent optics and warranty. About $150 cheaper here (fits in your budget easier)...

Although, for the same money as Midway, BSS has the higher power SIII's which is what I'd do.
